ALR Hearing

Hi, I’m Bill Mange, I’m board certified in criminal law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. And I defend people who are accused of drunk driving.

I want to talk to you about an ALR, or Administrative License Revocation, and why those are a win / win situation for you.

First, I always subpoena the officer to show up live. If he doesn’t show up live, you win. You get your license back.

Second, even if the officer does show up live, it’s still possible to win, though the Department of Public Safety usually wins those hearings.

Third, and most importantly, when the officer shows up, even if the Department wins, I get a chance to cross-examine the officer who pulled you over, and the officer who arrested you. And I get to use their testimony that they gave under oath to defend you in the criminal case against you.
